Mystery shoppers should never have to pay. Be careful when dealing with websites that offer large cash reimbursements, or ask for your checking information. Make sure the mystery shopping company you work for is recognized by the Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA) so you can be assured that your personal information will not be shared.

  • Watch out for abnormally high payment offers for a relatively easy job.
  • When joining a new mystery shopping company, make sure they follow a complete application process.
  • Don’t give out to much information. Mystery Shopping Companies do not need an extensive amount of personal information. Be care for shops that ask for more then necessary.
  • Make sure you can sign up for their company through www.mysteryshop.org
  • Check to see if the company has links to other credible sites. (MapQuest, PayPal)
